First Solo Recital on restored Aeolian-Skinner Organ at Northrop Auditorium, University of Minnesota
November 1, 2018
After years of silence, the remarkable 1932 Aeolian-Skinner Organ, Op. 892, has been brought back to life by the Foley-Baker Inc. organbuilders! As part of the inaugural celebration of this important American organ, it was a real honor to have been asked to perform the first solo recital to showcase the restored organ on December 4, 2018. It was also an exciting occasion to premier two new Preludes and Fugues by the American composer Henry Martin, commissioned by Michael Barone in 2015. Congratulations to the University of Minnesota for their commitment to this musical treasure, and the dedicated team of craftsmen at Foley-Baker Inc. for their exemplary and sensitive work on this organ!
