Inauguration of the Harrison & Harrison organ at King’s College, Cambridge!
October 5, 2016
Few organs are as widely heard as the 1934 Harrison & Harrison organ in one of Christendom’s most beloved buildings: King’s College Chapel. Its sonorities have become synonymous with Advent and Christmas thanks to King’s celebrated Ceremony of Nine Lessons and Carols, heard across the globe each December. Following a meticulous and sympathetic rebuilding by the Harrison & Harrison firm, it was a tremendous honor to give the first solo recital on the freshly renewed instrument on October 4, 2016. The program featured masterpieces by Willan, Howells, Roger-Ducasse, and Liszt. Below is an exerpt: Healey Willan’s Introduction, Passacaglia, and Fugue, LIVE from the inaugural concert!
